VfL Osnabruck Technical Director Daniel Latkowski believes Ghana international Daniel Kofi Kyereh has already demonstrated the exceptional qualities that can make him an important player for the German club.
The 30-year-old joined Osnabrück on a free transfer after a difficult period caused by a serious knee injury, which sidelined him for an extended period.
Kyereh previously enjoyed an impressive spell with FC St. Pauli, where he worked under current Osnabruck head coach Timo Schultz. In 62 2. Bundesliga appearances for the Hamburg side, he scored 21 goals and provided 20 assists.
His standout campaign came in 2021/22, when he contributed 12 goals and 10 assists as St. Pauli challenged for promotion.
Latkowski believes those performances underline the attacking quality Kyereh can bring to Osnabrück as he continues his return to full fitness.
“Kofi has impressively demonstrated in the past the exceptional abilities he possesses. He can score goals himself, create chances for his teammates and make the difference with his technical quality and understanding of the game.”
Latkowski also highlighted Kyereh’s successful spell at St. Pauli, where he established himself as one of the most dangerous attacking players in Germany’s second tier.
“Particularly during his time at FC St. Pauli, he was one of the outstanding attacking players in the 2. Bundesliga.”
Kyereh has already returned to competitive action, featuring seven times for Freiburg II in the Regionalliga.
