Black Princesses captain Linda Owusu Ansah believes her experience at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations will give her a significant advantage as Ghana prepare for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland.
Ansah was part of the Black Queens squad at the continental tournament in Morocco, where she trained and played alongside some of Ghana’s most experienced female footballers.
The experience came after the midfielder helped the Black Princesses qualify for the U-20 World Cup, scoring the decisive free-kick against Uganda in Kampala to secure Ghana’s eighth consecutive appearance at the global tournament.
Ansah believes her involvement with the senior national team has provided an important learning opportunity ahead of the competition in Poland.
"I feel like taking part of the WAFCON will help in my World Cup preparation in the sense that I will be able to train and play with very experienced players and learn a lot from them," she told FIFA.
The 20-year-old says the lessons gained from working with senior players will help her approach the U-20 tournament with greater maturity and confidence.
"So, coming into the U-20 World Cup, I will be coming with a little bit of experience," she added.
Ghana have been placed in Group C alongside Ecuador, France and Korea Republic, setting up a difficult challenge for the Black Princesses.
The team are seeking to reach the knockout stage for the first time after failing to progress beyond the group phase in their previous seven appearances.
