The 10 regional champions in the Boys U17 Colts category for the 2025/2026 season will meet at the national championship in November, bringing together some of Ghana’s most promising young footballers.
Nine regions have already confirmed their representatives after a series of fiercely contested inter District and Regional Competitions, with the final place to be decided in the Volta Region.
Cheetah FC won the Central Region championship, while Bolga Soccer Masters Colts FC claimed the Upper East Region title.
Show Show FC were crowned champions in the Eastern Region after an impressive campaign. Young Lions secured the Northern Region crown, and Sunyani Great Young Kotoko emerged as winners in the Brong Ahafo Region.
Raymond FC will represent the Ashanti Region at the national event, while Desidero Football Club earned the Greater Accra Region’s place.
Yaasin FC won the Upper West Region championship, and Tarkwa Barcelona Babies secured the Western Region title to complete the list of confirmed regional champions.
The remaining berth will be decided in the Volta Region, where the Volta Regional Football Association is scheduled to stage its championship final on Sunday, September 13, 2026.
With the regional competition nearing completion, the focus will shift to November’s national championship. The event will see the leading U17 Colts club sides from across Ghana compete for the national title.
The tournament will give the young players an opportunity to face strong opposition from other regions and build valuable competitive experience. Their performances could also place them on the radar of national team scouts and clubs.
The national championship will further support the work of national team selectors in identifying potential recruits, while helping the Technical Directorate expand its talent identification database.
