Semper Fi have officially appointed Chris Baffour as their head coach for the new season, handing him a two-year contract as they prepare for another Division One League campaign.
Baffour has been in charge of the team since pre-season and has now been formally confirmed in the position as the club looks to build on an impressive run last season.
The appointment comes at an important time for Semper Fi, who came close to securing promotion last season after finishing second in Division One League Zone III.
The club will be hoping to go one step further in the upcoming campaign and secure promotion to the Ghana Premier League.
Semper Fi will begin their new Division One League campaign this weekend when they face Okwawu United in their opening fixture.
Baffour has already had a taste of competitive action with the team since taking charge, guiding Semper Fi to the final of the Division One League Super Cup.
Semper Fi were beaten by Ebusua Dwarfs in the final after the two sides played out a 1-1 draw in regulation time. Ebusua Dwarfs eventually prevailed 5-4 in the penalty shootout to lift the trophy.
Despite the disappointment, the run provided Baffour with an early opportunity to assess his squad and prepare the team ahead of the new Division One League season.
The coach holds a UEFA A coaching licence and brings experience from both Ghana and abroad to his new role.
Baffour began his coaching career in England, where he worked with Crawley Town U23 as a Youth Development Coach between June 2020 and February 2022.
His experience in the United Kingdom continued in Scotland, where he took charge of Fort William FC in the Scottish North Caledonian League from June to December 2022.
He subsequently returned to Ghana and joined Division One League side Rospak SC as head coach in April 2024.
Baffour spent more than a year with Rospak before leaving the position in September 2025.
He also gained experience at international level, serving as an assistant coach of Ghana's U-20 national team from December 2024 to December 2025.
His time with the Black Satellites gave him exposure to elite youth football and the demands of working within Ghana's national team setup.
Now at Semper Fi, Baffour will be tasked with turning last season's near miss into promotion success.
The club's second-place finish in Zone III means expectations will be high heading into the new campaign, with the management looking to build a team capable of competing at the top end of the division.
The two-year contract gives Baffour the stability to implement his ideas and develop the squad over a longer period.
Having already worked with the team during pre-season and guided them to the Super Cup final, the coach will now focus on getting Semper Fi off to a strong start against Okwawu United this weekend.
