Côte dâ??Ivoire coach Hervé Renard faces injury concerns ahead of Ghana clash

Côte d’Ivoire head coach Hervé Renard is facing injury concerns ahead of his first squad announcement since returning to the role.

Renard will name his squad on Wednesday for the Elephants’ upcoming fixtures, including their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Ghana on September 24.

Galatasaray defender Wilfried Singo is a major doubt after suffering a thigh injury and playing limited football since the start of the season.

Simon Adingra is also racing against time after joining Ajax on loan without being fully fit. The winger is expected to need another two to three weeks before returning to full fitness.

Manchester United winger Amad Diallo is another concern after suffering an ankle injury and missing competitive action.

Renard will have to assess the trio before deciding whether to include them in the squad for the Ghana game.

The Elephants will host the Black Stars on September 24 before facing Somalia five days later. They will then play Cameroon in a friendly on October 3.

Ghana will be hoping the injury concerns keep the three players out of the Côte d’Ivoire squad for the September 24 qualifier.
