Asante Kotoko defender Joseph Amoah has indicated that he is happy to play in any position to help the team.
The versatile right-back was named Man of the Match following the club’s 2-1 victory over Heart of Lions in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday, in a game where he played as a centre-back.
On the matchday, Emmanuel Mamah opened the scoring for Kotoko before Isaac Opoku Agyemang doubled their advantage in the second half.
Heart of Lions pulled one back through Francis Odoom from the penalty spot, but Kotoko held firm to secure the victory.
Speaking in a post-match interview, Joseph Amoah expressed his delight with the result, adding that he is open to playing in any position the coach deems fit.
“I’m happy to play anywhere for the team. The coach has given me a lot of confidence and the freedom to play. This season, the coach has selected the captain; for me, I motivate the players on and off the pitch. We will plead with the supporters to always come and cheer us on,” Amoah said.
The defender is one of the captains of Asante Kotoko for the 2026/27 football season.
According to him, the plan is to do everything to bring success to the team at the end of the campaign.
