Carlos Queiroz has expressed his gratitude to the Ghana Football Association and Ghanaians for the confidence shown in him following his return as Black Stars head coach.
The Portuguese coach, who was in charge of Ghana at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, has returned for a second stint after his short-term contract with the team ended following the tournament.
Queiroz said he was delighted to be back and thanked Ghanaians for their support during the World Cup.
“It feels good to be back here. I would like to thank the leadership of the GFA and the people of Ghana for the confidence expressed in me,” Queiroz said.
“During the World Cup they suffered with us, they enjoyed the World Cup with us. So let me say from my heart, my deep gratitude for the understanding, support, and confidence that they put on the team and especially myself and my staff.”
Queiroz is now tasked with guiding Ghana through the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, with the Black Stars determined to return to the continental tournament after missing the 2025 edition.
Ghana begin their campaign against Côte d’Ivoire in Bouaké on Thursday before hosting The Gambia in Accra on September 29.
