Dreams FC coach Wilfred Dormon has rued his outfit’s inability to nail Hearts of Oak in their Ghana Premier League clash on Saturday afternoon.
The Still Believe lads and Hearts of Oak played out a pulsating 0-0 stalemate at the University of Ghana Stadium, with neither side able to find the breakthrough in a largely balanced encounter.
Dreams FC produced an improved performance compared to their previous outings, but their efforts were not enough to secure their first league victory of the season.
Both teams enjoyed periods of possession, but neither was able to exert sustained pressure or take control of the game. The goalless draw also means no goals have been scored in the last two meetings between the two sides.
Speaking after the match, Dormon expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance but admitted that the result was not what they wanted.
“We were defensively compact. We denied them time and space, while the goalkeeper was able to protect the spaces behind us. We also won the transition balls, and I think we were the better team in the first half. We opened them up and created some good moments.
“During the break, we made one or two adjustments and decided to play in a mid-block and catch them on the transition. We had some moments where we were able to do that.
“Overall, I think the performance was decent, but in terms of the result, it was not good enough. We can only look forward to the next game,” he said.
Dreams FC will travel to face Karela United in Tamale next weekend, while the Phobians return to action at home against newly promoted Port City FC.
