The Ghanaian hard-hitting puncher will headline a Top Rank card for the first time in USA and Commey has expressed his desire to take the opportunity to market himself to the American market.
Commey (28-2, 25 KOs) is hopeful of making it four consecutive wins since teaming up with trainer Andre Rozier and relishes a big win over journeyman Beltran which he noted could make him one of the elite fighters in the lightweight division.

The New York-based Ghanaian pugilist is however keen on a big win on the night as it could land him a lucrative bout with Vasyl Lomachenko in the future.
Commey has been rated favourite to carry the night with his superb punching power but Beltran (36-8-1, 22 KOs) on the other hand possesses an experience advantage.
The Mexican has fought for four world championship winning once against Namibia’s Paulus Moses but lost the title to Jose Pedraza in his first defence.
Commey will be making his third world championship fight having lost his maiden attempt to Robert Easter Jnr in 2006 but a second round stoppage victory over Isa Chaniev on February 2 gives him much believe against Beltran.
The Ghanaian is yet to travel the distance with any opponent having earned knockout victories over Alejandro Luna, Yardley Cruz and Isa Chaniev in his previous three fights since teaming up with coach Rozier and tonight’s bout provides him another opportunity to extend his superb stoppage wins.
Meanwhile, an overweight Beltran will be entering into the ring on the back of an emphatic ninth round stoppage victory over Hiroki Okada at super lightweight with the aim of reviving a career which is on a verge of ending. Read Full Story
