Hearts of Oak coach Frank Nuttal lauded a remarkable job done by his charges after they secured a 1-0 victory over arch-rivals Asante Kotoko at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The Phobians improved tremendously in the second half of Sunday’s Super Clash and manage to snatch the only goal of the game via the penalty spot.
Vincent Atingah converted a disputable penalty awarded the side by referee Samuel Sukah after Kotoko defender Ahmed Adams blocked a goal-bound shot within the 18-yard.
“It’s a very nice feeling because it’s always good to win all three points,” the Scotsman said after leading Hearts to a first league home victory over the Porcupine Warriors since 2009.
He added: “What worked for us had to do with the concentration, focus and the level of motivation of the players and staff; that’s been the same all the way through since I’ve been here.”
“Sometimes results haven’t gone our way but they maintained their focus, belief and we came out on top.”
