Thaddeus Anim-Somuah, an Advisor to the Executive Director at the Africa Sustainable Energy Centre (ASEC), has been appointed Chair of the World Energy Council’s Future Energy Leaders (FEL) platform following a unanimous vote by the Council’s Member Committees.
The appointment places Mr. Anim-Somuah in a key global leadership role at a time when the international energy sector is grappling with the complexities of the energy transition and the need to accelerate sustainable solutions.
In his role at ASEC, Mr. Anim-Somuah has been closely involved in advancing sustainable energy initiatives and fostering collaboration between the private sector and development-focused stakeholders. His new position is expected to strengthen dialogue among emerging energy leaders worldwide and promote innovative approaches to energy policy, investment and implementation.
ASEC said the appointment reinforces its mission to support sustainable energy development across Africa and beyond, noting that Mr. Anim-Somuah’s leadership on the FEL platform would enhance global collaboration and knowledge-sharing.
The World Energy Council’s Future Energy Leaders platform brings together young professionals and thought leaders from across the energy value chain to contribute to shaping the future of the global energy system.
