An anti-cocoa smuggling task force has intercepted more than 132 bags of cocoa beans at two different places near the border with Cote d’Ivoire in the Aowin District in the Western Region. More fishermen have been arrested in the Western Region for allegedly buying large quantities of fish from foreign vessels on high seas in contravention of the law. Former President Jerry John Rawlings will call at the residence of the late Mr Paul Victor Obeng Wednesday to express his condolences to the bereaved family. Obeng served as the chairman of the Committee of Secretaries under Rawlings’ Provisional National Defence Council regime (PNDC) from 1982 to 1992.
