Ama Burland
GHANAIAN DIGITAL content creator and influencer, Princess Ama Burland, has hit back at critics who have been body shaming her in recent times, stating that she is not moved by their comments.
For sometime now, Ama Burland has been facing continuous backlash, trolling and drags because her boobs are saggy and she is not “hiding” them.
Trolls have also laughed at her “flat ass” and “absent hips,” with some stating that she is not very academically-inclined as portrayed.
These criticisms became evident during Serwaa Amihere’s visit to Ama Burland’s store to surprise her with some gifts from her sponsors. Under the comment section, there were some disparaging comments.
Dede Brew wrote, “I remember, when they used to compare her with other celebrities making some of them feel less on this app. I always say, you will never reign forever. You people should tell her the truth.”
Eli also stated, “It’s not body shaming dear, Ama is very beautiful but let’s be honest with her, sometimes you just have to dress well; that’s what I like about Serwaa. It’s not comparison but it’s just the thing about decency.”
Ampomaa under the comment section wrote, “Being mean to a woman because of her body or outfit is unnecessary. Weight loss changes bodies, and that’s normal. Let’s show kindness instead of tearing someone down. You don’t have to like her outfit, but mocking her body isn’t okay. Weight loss affects everyone differently. Let’s be human. Kindness costs nothing. Let Ama live. This hate is unnecessary.”
???????????????? added, “I genuinely struggle to understand what Ghanaian feminists are doing. Ama Burland has faced sustained cyberbullying across almost every social media platform since last year, and at times I worry deeply about the impact this may have on her mental health.”
Ama Burland, in response, fired at the critics, saying she is not moved by the bad comments made on social media.
“If someone insults me about my body, I don’t care because when we all die we will go six feet under the ground, so I’m not moved,” she said.
