Mzbel
Ghanaian musician, Mzbel, has strongly dismissed claims that a wealthy man or political figures funded her lifestyle, insisting she built her success through music alone.
In a response video to comments allegedly made by Kwaku Manu, who listed her among some female entertainers who received help from powerful men to establish businesses, Mzbel set the record straight, “No man bought me a house or a company.”
The “16 Years” hitmaker said all her properties, including her house and car, were acquired through her own hard work in the music industry. “I am crying because my government is in power, yet they have not given me any work,” she said, clarifying she is not seeking political appointments but paid gigs as a musician.
According to her, the government has organised several entertainment events, yet she has not been booked to perform at any of them—despite her visible support during the campaign period.
Mzbel further described as “unfounded” rumours that the NDC rewarded her with a house or car, stressing that she has not even benefited from performance opportunities.
“The house I live in was built by me, and I bought my own car,” she stated. “The party hasn’t even given me gigs where I can render my services and get paid, so how would they buy me a house or a car?
