Binduri Constituency gets an ambulance
Bawku (U/E), Oct. 23, GNA - Mr Stephen Yakubu, Member of Parliament (MP) for the Binduri Constituency has donated a 30,000 Ghana Cedi ambulance to help ensure the delivery of quality health services in the area.
The ambulance which was purchased from part of the MP’s common fund would provide free services to people in the area and those in the surrounding communities.
Mr Yakubu said most people living in the area were poor and could not afford transportation to health centres to access health services and that the donation would assist the needy in the area.
He said as part of measures to promote health in the area, he had constructed pavilions to all Community Health Planning Services Compound (CHPS) in the constituency to ensure the provision of shade to the infirm and nursing mothers who visit such health centres.
He said he has also provided roofing for two nurses’ quarters and donated solar powered lights and other domestic logistics to ensure the comfort of health workers in the area.
Mr Yakubu said efforts are being made to improve the road infrastructure in the area with the bridging of the Bazua and Binduri roads to network the two communities and allow trade to occur between them.
Dr Thomas Afful-Mensah, Municipal Health Director, who received the facility commended the Member of Parliament for his effort in promoting health services in the area and called on other developmental partners to emulate his example.
