A renowned Ghanaian evangelist honoured with Doctor of Divinity
Sunyani, Oct. 23, GNA – The Pan African Clergy and Bible Seminary in the United States of America has conferred Doctor of Divinity (DD) on Rev Daniel Thomas Aboagye-Mensah, an Evangelist and Founder and President of the Christ Universal Evangelism Network, a Christian non-governmental organisation.
Rev Aboagye-Mensah was among 11 ministers of the gospel including Most Rev. Peter Akwasi Sarpong, Metropolitan Archbishop Emeritus of Kumasi Diocese of the Catholic Church who received a Living Legend Award.
The Third Honorary Doctoral Award ceremony held at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi was to honour and acknowledge the contributions of the recipients to humanity and the spread of the gospel.
Rev. Aboagye-Mensah’s citation read “For your immense achievements in Christian Ministry and dedication to your calling for the huge impact you have made in the lives of the people of Ghana and beyond, the organisation proudly confers on you an honorary Doctor of Divinity”.
Rev. Aboagye-Mensah, a legal practitioner, who left the Bar in 1994 for service to the Lord’s vineyard, said the award had strengthened his resolve for the Ministry.
“I see the award as God’s blessing and honour by God who has seen my sacrifice,” he said.
On Election 2012, Rev. Aboagye-Mensah appealed to political parties to conduct their campaigns in a more decorous manner devoid of utterances that could inflame passion.
He called on the Christian Council of Ghana, Catholic Bishops’ Conference and other religious bodies to pray for peace.
Rev. Aboagye-Mensah said he was optimistic that God who saw Ghana through previous elections would “see us through this time.It is appropriate that we all watch our utterances.
