Trader charged for causing harm
Accra, Nov. 15, GNA – A trader, who poured hot soup on her colleague tenant during verbal exchanges appeared before an Accra Circuit Court on Wednesday and was charged for causing harm.

Grace Antwi pleaded not guilty to the charge and she was admitted to a bail in the sum of GH¢5,000.00 with one surety to reappear on December 4, 2012.

The verbal exchange came as a result of Grace Antwi beating Madam Felicia Mensah, the complainant’s 12-year old son without any recourse.

Prosecuting Inspector Ivy Dedoo told the court presided over by Mrs Patience Mills Tetteh that both Grace and Felicia are traders residing at Aboom Junction in Kwabenyah, near Accra.

On October 14 this year, the complainant returned from her errands around 1000 hours and was informed that the accused for some unknown reasons had assaulted her 12-year old son.

The complainant, therefore, approached Grace to ascertain what necessitated the assault, she got offended and started insulting the complainant and that resulted in heated verbal exchanges.

Inspector Dedoo said during the verbal exchange, Grace poured hot soup on the complainant as a result she sustained burns all over her body.

The Madam Felicia Mensah therefore lodged a complaint with the Police.
Â
Prosecution said the Police issued the complainant with a medical form to enable her go to the hospital to seek medical attention.

The accused person also followed up to the Police and she was also offered a medical form for medical examination.
