Former Black Stars head coach James Kwesi Appiah believes Ghana must approach the 2026 World Cup with total readiness.
From the first day of camp, he wants the players sharp in body and strong in mind, with a clear hunger to win at every stage.
The experienced tactician, now handling Sudan’s national team, shared his thoughts during an interview on Akoma FM. Appiah stressed that preparation should go beyond tactics and team selection. For him, fitness, focus, and belief must come together if Ghana are to compete with the best on the global stage.
“Ghana needs to prepare very well physically and psychologically. Irrespective whatever team we meet the ambition should be (we have to win),” he said.
Ghana have already booked their place at the tournament and will compete in Group L against England, Croatia, and Panama. It is a tricky group that will test the squad’s depth and discipline.
To sharpen the team, the Black Stars will play Germany in a March friendly to test options before the World Cup.
