Morocco head coach Walid Regragui has rued missed chances following stalemate against Mali in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
The highly competitive Group A match, held at the Stade Prince Moulay Abdallah on Friday, December 26, 2025 ended in a 1-1 draw.
Real Madrid star Brahim Diaz opened the scoring for the Atlas Lions before the half hour mark after converting perfectly from the spot.
But the Eagles managed to restore parity in the 64th-minute through Lassine Sinayoko, who converted from the spot to force the match to end in a 1-1 stalemate.
Speaking after the high-intensity match, Regragui rued the sides missed chances, insisting they should killed the game off.
â"It was a high-intensity match. We played the game we needed to play, but we still have situations where we need to be more clinical. We should have killed the game off, but it was a good test for us. In the end, it’s a good result!" he said.
Morocco currently sit top of Group A, accumulating four points after two matches into the tournament. The Atlas Lions will take on Zambia in their final group match.
