The FIFA World Cup 2026 ticketing process has generated unprecedented global interest, with more than 150 million ticket requests submitted at the halfway stage of the Random Selection Draw phase.
According to FIFA, applications have been received from fans in over 200 countries, making the tournament more than 30 times oversubscribed based on verified individual credit card entries. The scale of demand also exceeds historical benchmarks, standing at more than three times the total attendance recorded across all 22 previous World Cup editions since 1930.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino described the response as a clear reflection of the tournament’s global appeal, noting that the 2026 edition is set to be the largest and most inclusive in the competition’s history. He added that the event will unite fans from around the world when it takes place in North America.
The tournament will run from 11 June to 19 July 2026, featuring 48 teams, 104 matches and 16 host cities across Canada, Mexico and the United States. The current Random Selection Draw phase remains open until 13 January 2026, with all applicants having equal chances regardless of when they apply.
FIFA has also introduced a Supporter Entry Tier priced at USD 60 per match, aimed at making attendance more accessible. Fans who miss out in this phase will have further opportunities during subsequent sales windows.
