Alex Boakye has delivered a timely reminder to his Aduana FC teammates as the Ogya Boys look to steady their Ghana Premier League campaign.
Speaking ahead of Sunday’s matchweek 18 clash against Karela United, the Aduana captain admitted complacency played a role in last weekend’s shock defeat and stressed the need for a sharper, more professional approach going forward.
Aduana return to the Nana Agyeman Badu I Park determined to respond after being edged 1-0 at home by Vision FC, a result that dented momentum and exposed a worrying lapse in focus.
Reflecting on that setback, Boakye did not shy away from accountability.
“The players underrated the Vision FC team before the game. They thought that, at all costs, they would win against them. We have to take every match seriously in the Premier League,” he said.
That loss extended a difficult run for the Dormaa-based side, who have managed just one win in their last six league outings.
Despite the dip, Aduana remain firmly in the title conversation. They sit fourth on the table, five points behind leaders Medeama SC, and know that a strong home response could quickly restore belief.
Home advantage has long been Aduana’s strength, built on defensive discipline and controlled aggression.
Boakye and his teammates will be keen to reassert those qualities against a Karela United side arriving with confidence.
The visitors have lost only once in their last seven matches and are pushing toward the top five, adding extra edge to the contest.
