The Spanish Football Federation has announced that the national team’s friendly match against Egypt will be played on March 30.
La Roja, as part of preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup are set to engage the Pharaohs in a high-profile international friendly that will take place in Qatar.
In its official statement on the friendly, the Spanish Football Federation disclosed that the match will be played at the Ahmed Bin Ali Stadium.
"The Spanish national team will face their Egyptian counterparts in an international friendly match on March 30 in Qatar. The match will be held at the Ahmed Bin Ali Stadium and will kick off at 6:00 PM Spanish time (7:00 PM Egyptian time). This comes three days after the Spain-Argentina match, which will also be held in Qatar, but at the Lusail Stadium,” the statement said on Monday.
This will be the second meeting between the Spanish national team and its Egyptian counterpart.
The first match between the two sides happened on June 3, 2006, with Spain running away with a 2-0 victory thanks to goals from Raul and Reyes.
Egypt, currently in the semi-finals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco, will hope to get a win over Spain during the upcoming March friendly.
