Sports journalist Alex Kobina Stonne, also known as Kobby Stone, has been elected SRC External Affairs Officer at the University of Media Arts and Communications (UniMAC).
The Asempa FM reporter, who is a final-year student pursuing Development Communication at the Institute of Journalism campus, emerged victorious in elections held on Friday.
Following his win, Stonne expressed gratitude to the university community for the confidence reposed in him, describing the outcome as a collective achievement rather than a personal triumph.
“Thank you, UniMAC. I am deeply grateful to everyone who supported, believed, encouraged, and stood with me throughout this journey,” he said. “Your love, prayers, sacrifices, and confidence made this victory possible. This win is not just mine, it is ours.”
He pledged to approach his new role with a strong sense of responsibility and purpose, promising to deliver results and represent the interests of students beyond the classroom.
“I do not take this mandate lightly, and I am committed to serving with humility, integrity, and results,” Stonne added. “Thank you for trusting me. The work begins now. Beyond campus mandate.”
Stonne’s election adds to his growing profile as a young media professional, combining journalism with student leadership at one of Ghana’s leading media training institutions.
