Birmingham City are closing in on a loan move for Ghana winger Ibrahim Osman from Brighton & Hove Albion, with the deal expected to run until the end of the season.
The 21-year-old is set to be recalled from his current loan spell at French Ligue 1 side Auxerre, where he made 16 appearances and registered two assists in all competitions.
Osman is now poised to link up with Championship outfit Birmingham as Brighton look to secure regular playing time for the highly-rated youngster to aid his development.
Osman joined Brighton in the summer of 2024 from Danish club FC Nordsjaelland for a reported fee of around 16 million Pounds, becoming one of the most expensive Ghanaian signings at the time.
Prior to his move to England, the winger had impressed in Denmark with his pace, direct running and creativity, attributes that quickly attracted interest from several European clubs.
Last season, Osman spent time on loan at Dutch giants Feyenoord, where he featured prominently, making 32 appearances across competitions.
His spell in the Eredivisie exposed him to top-level European football and further enhanced his tactical awareness and work rate on the flanks.
The proposed move to Birmingham is seen as a strategic step, offering Osman the chance to gain consistent minutes in the physically demanding Championship.
The Blues are keen to bolster their attacking options as they push for a strong finish to the season, and Osman's versatility across the frontline could prove valuable.
