Bechem United head coach Kobina Amissah has emphasised that scoring early on Sunday was key to beating Heart of Lions in their Week 20 fixture in the Ghana Premier League.
In a tough match played at Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park, a solitary strike from talisman Augustine Okrah in the fourth minute secured all three points for the Hunters at the end of the game.
Speaking in his post-match interview, Kobina Amissah shared his delight with the triumph, explaining that the early goal was instrumental on the matchday.
“First of all, I will encourage my players for putting up such a performance because Heart of Lions were tactically disciplined. The game itself was a nice game from both teams.
“We were lucky we scored very early, and I think that helped us to absorb the pressure. We were able to contain their pressure, and all in all, it was a lovely game. I’m excited by the performance of both teams,” the Bechem United coach said.
Following the victory over Heart of Lions, Bechem United have climbed to 9th in the Ghana Premier League table with 27 points.
The result over the weekend massively boosted the team’s chances of escaping relegation at the end of the season.
