Former Ghana international Awudu Issaka has admonished Congolese defender Samba O’Neil to naturalise and play for the Black Stars.
The defender signed for Ghana Premier League giants Asante Kotoko in 2024 and has established himself as one of the best defenders in the local league in the past two seasons.
In the ongoing 2025/26 league campaign, Samba O’Neil continues to shine and has earned admiration from not just supporters of the Porcupine Warriors but also the general followers of the Ghanaian top-flight league.
Impressed with the performance of the Congolese centre-back, Awudu Issaka has urged the player to naturalise and play for Ghana, insisting that he will be a good addition to the Black Stars.
“Samba O’Neil is a fantastic defender. He will be a good addition to the Black Stars. I will urge him to hurriedly naturalise for Ghana and join the team,” the former Ghana youth star said in an interview with Angel TV.
This season, Samba O’Neil has featured in 19 games for Asante Kotoko in the Ghana Premier League and scored three goals.
He is playing a key role in the team’s fight to claim the league title at the end of the season.
