Asante Kotoko head coach Karim Zito insists his team remains determined to clinch the Ghana Premier League title despite trailing Medeama SC by eight points.
After 20 games this season, the Porcupine Warriors occupy second place on the league table, with Medeama leading on 43 points.
“It’s a marathon race. Some teams can start well, but there may be moments when the gap widens, and people want to give up. But for me, I don’t give up until it ends. We are still fighting for the title,” Zito said.
The coach encouraged resilience both on and off the pitch, drawing a parallel between football and life.
“Football is about moments. There are times when things go well and times when they don’t. Just like life, when things are not going well, you don’t sit down and cry. You fight hard to achieve your target. We are not giving upâwe are still fighting,” he added.
Kotoko will look to maintain their winning form when they face Heart of Lions in Matchday 21 at the Kpando Sports Stadium on Saturday, January 31.
Kick off is scheduled at 15:30 GMT.
