GPL: Losing to Nations FC very painful â Medeama coach Ibrahim Tanko
The head coach of Medeama Sporting Club, Ibrahim Tanko, has described his side’s 2-1 defeat to Nations FC in the Ghana Premier League as a painful one.
The coach led his side into Friday’s Week 21 fixture on the back of an impressive 17-game unbeaten run.
In the encounter staged at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex, Medeama SC opened the scoring in the 9th minute through Kingsley Braye, but a brace from Razak Simpson before halftime earned all three points for Nations FC.
Speaking in his post-match interview, Ibrahim Tanko indicated that he was pleased with the performance of his players.
However, he admitted that the defeat was one that was very painful.
“After the first goal, we allowed them to take all the second balls. The pressure was too high. Losing here is very painful,” Tanko said.
The Medeama SC boss added, “Sometimes you can do everything, and they will score. We are going to prepare and see what will happen in the next game. We didn’t play badly. We lost 2-,1, and we will prepare for the next game.”
Despite the defeat, Medeama SC remain top of the Ghana Premier League standings with 43 points.
