German-Ghanaian striker Richmond Tachie expressed clear enthusiasm after sealing his move to FC Magdeburg.
The 26-year-old, standing 1.78 meters tall, arrives from FC Kaiserslautern, where he most recently played in the 2. Bundesliga.
“I'm delighted to be officially part of 1. FC Magdeburg. The club's playing style is a perfect fit for me. The same goes for the values ââthe club stands for, which were conveyed to me in our initial discussions. I'm especially looking forward to the fantastic atmosphere in the packed Avnet Arena, which I know from our previous matches against each other,” he said.
Trained as a right-footer, he began his football journey at Tennis Borussia Berlin before moving to the academy of VfL Wolfsburg, progressing through all youth teams up to the U23s.
Subsequent stops included Viktoria Köln and Borussia Dortmund II, where he became a key performer, registering eleven goals and ten assists in 40 games and celebrating promotion to the 3. Liga in summer 2021.
Later, he featured for SC Paderborn in the 2. Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal before joining Kaiserslautern. A loan spell at Eintracht Braunschweig in the 2024/25 Rückrunde was followed by his return to Kaiserslautern in 2025
The striker now aims to quickly integrate into the squad, bring his energy and versatility in attack, and repay the club’s trust with strong performances on the pitch.
