Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo has expressed optimism ahead of the Black Stars’ participation in the 2026 World Cup.
After missing out on the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations for the first time in more than 20 years, the four-time African champions quickly bounced back to secure a spot at the global tournament, which will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Placed in Group L alongside Panama, England, and Croatia, Ghana will aim to improve on their early exit from the previous World Cup in Qatar.
The Manchester City striker is confident the team can make an impact on football’s biggest stage.
"The World Cup is going to be amazing. Hopefully, we will do well. I am looking forward to playing in it," Semenyo told CBS Sports.
Ghana opens its campaign against Panama on June 17 in Toronto, before taking on England in Boston. The group stage concludes against Croatia on June 27 in Philadelphia.
As part of their build-up, the Black Stars will face Austria and Germany in friendly matches this March, providing crucial preparation ahead of the tournament.
