German-born Ghanaian forward, Aaron Opoku has returned to home to sign for Bundesliga 2 side Eintracht Braunschweig.
The 26-year-old signed a deal to join Braunschweig until the summer of 2028 from Turkish club Kayserispor.
Opoku, who spent most of his career in the German lower tiers, arrives with enormous experience as Eintracht Braunschweig eye a good finish to the campaign.
“I’m delighted to be back in Germany and to have found such a passionate and traditional club as Eintracht. I’m fit and ready to wear the red lion jersey and help the team achieve their goal of staying in the league. I can’t wait to meet my new teammates and work with them on the pitch,” said Opoku after signing the deal.
Opoku, born in Hamburg, started his career at HSV before spells Jahn Regensburg, VfL Osnabrück, and 1. FC Kaiserslautern.
The lanky forward played 80 second-division matches (scoring eight goals, and providing eleven assists) and 65 third-division matches (scored eight goals, and delivered 21 assists).
Meanwhile, in 19 appearances in Turkey, he delivered two assists.
