Kenyan Premier League side Police FC have strengthened their squad for the ongoing season with the signing of Ghanaian midfielder Samuel Quansah Boamah.
The 25-year-old arrives in Nairobi after leaving Heart of Lions in the Ghana Premier League.
The Makarao, as Police FC are affectionately known, confirmed the addition on their social media platforms, highlighting Quansah’s experience and work ethic.
“The armoury must be equipped with the necessary artillery. We have acquired the services of SAMUEL QUANSAH BOAMAH. Quansah is an attacking midfielder who brings with him lots of experience from Ghana. The former Hearts of Lions Box-to-Box midfielder is ready to take on the task with the boys in blue. WELCOME HOME MCHEZA,” the club posted.
Quansah featured in 18 league matches for Heart of Lions last season, although he did not score. His arrival is expected to provide added depth and creativity as Police FC aim to defend their Kenyan Premier League title.
Currently, the reigning champions sit fifth on the league table with 29 points, 11 behind leaders Gor Mahia, who are coached by former Ghana international Charles Akonnor.
Quansah’s experience in Ghana’s top flight is seen as a key asset for the Cops as they push to close the gap on the league leaders and reinforce their attacking midfield options ahead of the crucial run-in.
