Luton Town FC manager Jack Wilshere has shared his delight with the permanent signing of England-born Ghanaian attacker Gideon Kodua, insisting that the player is important to how his team wants to play.
This comes after the English League One outfit announced on Friday, February 6, that the loan deal with Premier League side West Ham United has been made permanent.
Speaking after the deal was announced, Wilshere was full of praise for Kodua, particularly his attitude and hard work.
“Gids is so important to how we want to play. He’s one that I knew plenty about before I came here, after scoring against my team in the FA Youth Cup final for West Ham, but since we’ve been in he has been outstanding for us.
“His contribution in terms of output is there for all to see with the number of goals he’s scored. But what you don’t see is his attitude to working and improving himself on a daily basis at the training ground,” Jack Wilshere said as quoted on the Luton Town FC website.
The manager added, “He’s emerged as a key character within the squad and someone we are so pleased to have on board now for the long-term, and not just the remainder of this season.”
Kodua, 21, has been in sensational form during the opening half of the season. He so far boasts of 10 goals after making 31 appearances for the English lower-division club.
His hard work and dedication have made him a firm fans’ favourite at Kenilworth Road and have now earned him a permanent deal.
