Interim Asante Kotoko coach, Prince Owusu Yaw, has refused to blame the players for their poor run of form.
After an embarrassing defeat against Heart of Lions in the Premier League, Kotoko's hope of defedning FA Cup title was crushed after losing 4-2 on penalty shootouts against Aduana FC in the Round of 16.
Their elimination led to Karim Zito resigning from his role as the head coach of the club on Monday.
Speaking to the club's media, Yaw Owusu said, “We don’t think we can put all the blame on the boys.
“They did exactly what they were asked to do, and because of that, we have to figure out what went wrong.”
The coach emphasised the need for introspection, adding, “We need to talk to them and get them back to playing the Hearts of Oak.”
Asante Kotoko will host their rivals at the Baba Yara Stadium in the Super Clash on Sunday in the Matchday 22 games.
Kick off is scheduled at 17:00 GMT.
