A confident Frank Nelson, former Board Member of Accra Hearts of Oak, has served notice that the Phobians are coming to Kumasi with one clear mission: to change the narrative of Ghana's biggest football rivalry.
Speaking on Akoma 87.9 FM ahead of Sunday's Super Clash against Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Nelson declared that Hearts are no longer content with the recent dominance Kotoko has enjoyed in the fixture.
"We are determined to rewrite history," Nelson asserted. "I always say Baba Yara is our ground. This is our home. It is true that Kotoko have had the upper hand over us in recent years, but this season we are determined to rewrite history."
The former board member revealed that preparations have been thorough and the players are fully aware of the significance of the occasion.
"We are coming to Kumasi this weekend with one objective â to make a difference. The players have been psyched up and they know what this game means," he added.
While acknowledging both sides have struggled with finishing this season, Nelson believes Sunday represents a turning point in the rivalry's recent trajectory.
"Our finishing has not been the best, and Kotoko's finishing has not been the best either, but I believe this Sunday will mark a turning point. There will be a shift in the winning side."
Nelson stopped short of predicting a specific scoreline but left no room for doubt about his expectations.
"I will not predict whether it will be 2â0, 1â0 or any scoreline, but one thing is certain â Accra Hearts of Oak must win on that day."
With Kotoko sitting fifth on 35 points and Hearts just one point ahead in fourth, Sunday's showdown carries significant implications for both league positioning and psychological momentum. For Nelson and the Phobian faithful, the time for history to be rewritten has arrived.
