Hearts of Oak coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani has said Karim Zito’s decision to step down as Asante Kotoko head coach is normal.
Zito resigned on Monday following Kotoko’s elimination from the MTN FA Cup after a Round of 16 defeat to Aduana FC, ending a challenging period for the Porcupine Warriors.
The former Kotoko assistant to Dramani leaves the club during a slump in results, with the Kumasi-based side recording just one victory in their last six league matches.
Kotoko currently occupy fifth place on the Ghana Premier League table with 35 points, sitting one point behind their fierce rivals Hearts of Oak ahead of a crucial clash between the two sides this weekend.
Dramani suggested public criticism of coaches often ignores the complex nature of football management.
“It’s normal. This is not the first time he has walked off from the coaching industry, and this is not going to be the last time. It's always like that, and it's very unfortunate when people don't understand how the rudiments of the game go,” he told Joy Sports.
“Unfortunately, coaches are not responsible for the outcomes of games. But many times they are perceived to be responsible for the outcomes of games.
