âVfB Stuttgart have offered cautious optimism over Justin Diehl’s fitness, with head coach Sebastian Hoeneb downplaying fears of a long-term absence.
The 21-year-old picked up an adductor problem while playing for Stuttgart’s second team in the 3. Liga, sparking concern given his injury history this season.
Hoeneb described it as “ a minor injury in the adductor area” and moved to calm speculation that Diehl could be sidelined for an extended period.
“We assume it won't take very long,” he explained, suggesting the club expects his recovery time to be manageable, even if he stopped short of giving an exact return date.
Although the precise length of Diehl’s layoff remains unclear, the overall outlook is more positive than initially feared.
Earlier in the campaign, the attacking player had already missed three separate spells of more than four weeks each, so any shorter break will come as a relief to both club and player. Stuttgart will now monitor his progress closely, hopeful that this latest setback proves only a brief pause in his development.
