Ghanaian striker Daniel Afriyie has extended his contract with Swiss first division side FC Aarau until June 30, 2028, after an option clause in his initial deal was triggered early.
The 24-year-old joined Aarau from FC Zürich in the summer on a two-year contract and made an immediate impact, scoring on his debut. He has since established himself as a key figure for the club, registering eight goals and five assists so far this season.
Aarau currently sit second in the Swiss Challenge League, with Afriyie's contributions playing a significant role in their promotion push.
"We look forward to continuing our collaboration with Daniel Afriyie and thank him for his loyalty," the club announced.
The former Accra Hearts of Oak attacker has flourished since his move to Switzerland, demonstrating the quality that first caught attention during his time in the Ghana Premier League.
His extended stay ensures Aarau will retain one of their most influential players for the foreseeable future.
