Ghanaian attacker Brandon Thomas-Asante continued his excellent Championship season with a clinical finish in Coventry City’s 3-0 home win over Preston North End at the Coventry Building Society Arena.
Lining up in the No.10 role, Thomas-Asante doubled Coventry’s lead in the 34th minute, arriving in the box to finish confidently after Tatsuhiro Sakamoto’s early opener on 17 minutes had put the hosts in control.
Coventry dominated throughout, and any hopes of a Preston comeback were ended shortly after the restart when Matt Grimes coolly converted a 50th-minute penalty to make it 3-0. From there, Frank Lampard’s side managed the game professionally, restricting Preston to half-chances while continuing to threaten on the break.
Thomas-Asante’s goal takes him to 11 goals and 4 assists in 24 Championship appearances in the 2025/26 campaign, underlining his status as one of the division’s in-form forwards.
The victory extends Coventry’s strong run and keeps them firmly in the promotion hunt ahead of their next league fixture at home to Southampton on Saturday, March 14, again at the Coventry Building Society Arena.
