Hohoe United have formally informed the Ghana Football Association (GFA) of their decision to withdraw from the ongoing Ghana Premier League, with the club now awaiting an official response.
Administrative Manager Yussif Alhassan Uthman confirmed the development, explaining that the Kpando-based side took the step due to concerns over what it describes as systemic unfairness within the competition.
Speaking in an interview with Sporty FM, Uthman disclosed that the club has not yet received any feedback from the football governing body following its communication.
“We have officially communicated to the Ghana Football Association, but have yet to receive any response from them,” he said.
He added that the club intends to provide further details on its position through a comprehensive statement expected later.
“I’m sure by the later closure of the day, we will issue an elaborate press release to cite some of the more reasons why those decisions were taken,” he noted.
The Ghana Football Association is expected to respond to the development in the coming days, with Hohoe United’s future in the top flight now uncertain.
On the pitch, the club currently sits 17th on the league table with 30 points after 27 matches, placing them firmly in the relegation zone as the season progresses.
