Heart of Lions head coach Bashir Hayford has identified poor finishing as the central issue behind his side’s recent struggles, with the veteran tactician admitting it remains a growing concern ahead of their clash with Vision FC.
Despite creating numerous chances in recent matches, the Kpando-based side have failed to convert their dominance into results, a problem that has contributed to a three-game winless run and just one victory in their last seven league outings.
“It’s a worry. In the last three matches, we have created a lot of chances, and finishing has been a problem that we are deliberating on. So we are still working on it,” Hayford stated.
The lack of cutting edge in the final third has seen the Lions slip to 13th on the league table with 34 points, dragging them closer to the relegation battle as the season approaches its decisive phase.
Hayford’s frustration stems not from a lack of creativity, but from his side’s inability to capitalise on scoring opportunities, with profligacy in front of goal proving costly in tight contests.
