The battle for the Golden Boot award in the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League has heated up with just six games left to play to end the season.
At the top of the goal king chart is hard-working forward Samuel Attah Kumi. The Bibiani Gold Stars striker has been a key man for the team since the start of the campaign and continues to shine.
The attacker was on target for his side on Sunday, leading the team to a crucial 2-1 win against Nations FC in their Week 28 fixture.
That goal not only helped Gold Stars to reclaim the top spot in the Ghana Premier League standings but also increased Atta Kumi’s chances of winning the Golden Boot award at the end of the season.
Now on 12 goals, the forward is closely trailed on the goal king chart by veteran attacker Augustine Okrah.
The Bechem United talisman has been consistent throughout the season and could steal the golden boot award if he can go on a scoring spree in the last six matches of the season.
Besides Atta Kumi and Augustine Okrah, Young Apostles star Richmond Opoku is also in the mix with 10 goals.
Other players who could win the award include Emmanuel Annor of Nations FC [10 goals] and Holy Stars poster boy Prince Tweneboah [eight goals].
Augustine Okrah moves closer and then Samuel Attah Kumi goes back on top.
