Techiman Eleven Wonders FC has been handed a ban on both domestic and international player transfers after failing to comply with decisions issued by the Players’ Status Committee and subsequent enforcement directives from the Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association.
The sanction follows the club’s inability to meet a stipulated deadline to settle outstanding payments owed to Moses Afriyie. Despite being formally notified of the ruling, the player reported to the Football Association that the club had neglected and refused to fully honour the financial obligation after the expiration of the agreed timeline.
In response, the Secretary to the Disciplinary Committee drew the club’s attention to Article 15(1) of the GFA Disciplinary Code, which governs the enforcement of decisions made by the Players’ Status Committee. Eleven Wonders FC was initially fined and granted an additional grace period to comply, with a clear warning that failure to do so would result in further sanctions.
Following the club’s continued non-compliance, the Disciplinary Committee has now invoked Article 15(2) of the Code, imposing an indefinite transfer ban on the club. The restriction will remain in force until the full outstanding amount owed to the player is settled.
This decision underscores the GFA’s firm commitment to upholding contractual obligations and enforcing regulatory compliance within Ghanaian football, ensuring that players’ rights are protected and that clubs adhere strictly to established rules and procedures.
