Asante Kotoko have begun life under interim head coach Hamza Obeng, with the new man taking charge of his first training session following his appointment earlier this week.
Obeng steps into the role at a difficult moment for the club, with Kotoko heading towards what looks set to be another trophyless season. He has been handed responsibility until the end of the campaign and is expected to stabilise performances in the closing weeks.
The change in the dugout follows the exit of Prince Yaw Owusu, who stepped down after a run of poor results. Heavy defeat to Medeama and a loss to Samartex left the team under pressure and slipping down the table.
Owusu had only recently taken over as interim coach after serving under Abdul Karim Zito, but results failed to improve, prompting another change on the bench.
Kotoko have dropped from fourth to sixth in the standings after back-to-back defeats, leaving Obeng with little margin for error as the season enters its final phase.
His first session marks the start of a reset, with the focus now on restoring confidence and getting the team back on track.
