Ghanaian winger Ibrahim Osman delivered a dazzling performance for Birmingham City against Preston North End on Tuesday night, scoring one goal, providing an assist, and completing all of his dribbles in just 37 minutes of action before being forced off with an injury.
Osman, on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion, was in scintillating form from the start. He set up a teammate with a clever assist before finding the back of the net himself with a clinical finish.
The 21-year-old also completed every single one of his attempted dribbles, terrorising the Preston defence with his pace and close control.
However, the night took a sour turn when Osman pulled up and had to be substituted in the 37th minute. The exact nature and severity of the injury are not yet known, but the Ghanaian was visibly frustrated as he left the pitch.
He was replaced by Demarai Gray, visibly frustrated as he left the pitch. The match ended 2-1 to Birmingham, with Andrew Hughes pulling one back for Preston in the 25th minute. The win keeps Birmingham 14th in the Championship table with 57 points from 43 games, having won just one of their last five matches
For Birmingham City, the win keeps their promotion hopes alive, but the potential loss of their star winger would be a significant blow. For Osman, the immediate focus will now shift to recovery, with the 2026 World Cup just weeks away. Ghana fans will be anxiously awaiting news on his fitness.
