Abdul Karim Zito has been rewarded for his transformative start at FC AshantiGold’04 after clinching the NASCO Coach of the Month award for March, just weeks into his tenure.
Appointed in mid-February, Zito has wasted little time imprinting his authority on the Obuasi-based side, steering them to the summit of the Zone Two league standings.
His influence has been immediate and decisive, with a blend of tactical organisation and discipline turning AshantiGold into one of the division’s most formidable outfits.
The experienced coach edged out competition from Ranford Kudjoe of Victory Club Warriors and Brimah Abdallah of Port City FC to secure the monthly accolade.
Zito’s impact is underlined by an impressive run of four straight league victories, a sequence that has not only propelled the club into pole position but also reinforced their title credentials.
Notably, his side recorded three clean sheets during that stretch, highlighting a newfound defensive solidity.
The standout performance came in a dominant 4-0 away triumph over Sefwi All Stars FC, a result that sent a strong signal to their rivals in Zone Two.
As part of the recognition, Zito will receive a 32-inch television set courtesy of Electroland Ghana Limited, sponsors of the NASCO awards.
