Former Ghana international Albert Adomah has offered glowing praise for forward Antoine Semenyo, stressing the in-form attacker has a bright future with the Black Stars as he continues to grow in stature for club and country.
Adomah believes Semenyo’s current form are signs of a player on a strong upward trajectory, while backing him to excel at the 2026 World Cup with the Black Stars.
Ghana will be making their fifth appearance at the FIFA World Cup, having been drawn in Group L alongside football powerhouses England, Croatia, and Panama.
The Black Stars will open their campaign against Panama on June 17, before facing England on June 23, and wrapping up their group matches against Croatia on June 27.
“Antoine Semenyo has a bright future with the Black Stars,” Adomah said, clearly backing the forward to play a key role in the national team in the years to come.
The former Black Stars winger, who represented Ghana at the highest level, added further encouragement for the forward to maintain his momentum.
“Antoine Semenyo has done extremely well to get to where he is at the moment and by God’s grace he will carry on doing well,” Adomah said.
“He is still got bright future ahead of him with the Black Stars and hopefully with Manchester City. I will urge him to keep on doing what he’s been doing. He’s on great form and hopefully he takes that form to the World Cup with Ghana.” he told 3Sports.
Semenyo’s rise has been one of the encouraging stories for Ghana in recent times, with the forward increasingly seen as a key attacking option. His direct style, energy, and ability to trouble defenders have made him a valuable asset in the Black Stars setup.
As Ghana prepares for major competitions, including the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Semenyo, who plies his trade for Manchester City is expected to play an important role in shaping the team’s attacking identity.
Since making his debut for Ghana in 2022, Semenyo has racked up three goals in 34 appearances for the Black Stars.
