English-Ghanaian defender Jordi Osei-Tutu found the net, but Bolton Wanderers suffered a disappointing 3-2 defeat to Luton Town at the Toughsheet Community Stadium.
Despite his goal, the result marked another setback in Bolton's campaign as they failed to secure victory in their final regular season fixture.
Luton took an early lead through Jordan Clark's 15th-minute penalty before Osei-Tutu restored parity five minutes later with assistance from Amario Cozier-Duberry. Ibrahim Cissoko put Bolton ahead in first-half stoppage time, but the Hatters responded through Hakeem Odoffin's 62nd-minute equalizer. Shayden Morris completed Luton's comeback in the third minute of stoppage time to seal all three points.
Osei-Tutu has been a regular contributor for Bolton this season, making 36 appearances in League One with two goals and two assists to his name. The 27-year-old earned a match rating of 7.4 for his performance against Luton by Sofascore.
Bolton will next face Bradford City in the League One playoff on Saturday, May 9, at 7:00 PM.
