Anderlecht Futures centre-back Dacosta Antwi has earned his first Ghana initiation for the upcoming international friendly match against Mexico.
The West African football powerhouse are gearing up for the 2026 World Cup to be co-hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico from next month.
However, the Black Stars new coach Carlos Queiroz has summoned 23 players for the highly-profiled friendly match, with the former Ghana U20 star earning a place in the team.
The 19-year-old defender has been outstanding in the Belgian Challenger Pro League for Anderlecht Futures, making 18 appearances and scoring a goal in the process.
Dacosta Antwi joined the second-tier club from Ghana Premier League outfit, Young Apostles following a standout displays for the club and the Black Satellites.
The rock-solid defender was named in the 2025 U20 AFCON best eleven of the group stage in Egypt, signaling his impact in the team.
He is expected to join the team for upcoming international fixtures, where he will have the opportunity to compete for a place in the final squad for the 2026 World Cup.
For Antwi, the call-up represents a major step forward and a chance to translate his domestic form onto the international stage, as Ghana continues to assess and integrate emerging talents into the team.
