Mining giant Gold Fields is set to announce a mega sponsorship package for Ghana’s senior national teams, the Black Stars and Black Queens, at a press conference scheduled for Friday morning in Accra.
The official unveiling ceremony will take place at 10:00am at the company’s headquarters, with key officials from the Ghana Football Association, representatives of Gold Fields, government stakeholders and invited guests all expected to be in attendance.
The sponsorship deal is expected to provide a major financial and logistical boost for both national teams ahead of important international assignments later this year.
The Black Stars are preparing for the upcoming FIFA World Cup, where Ghana will aim to make a strong impression on the global stage after securing qualification.
Meanwhile, the Black Queens are also intensifying preparations for the forthcoming Women’s Africa Cup of Nations as they seek continental success.
Sources close to the negotiations indicate that the agreement will rank among the biggest corporate sponsorships involving Ghana’s national teams in recent years, underlining Gold Fields' commitment to sports development and national pride.
The partnership is also expected to cover branding, team support initiatives and other developmental projects aimed at enhancing the operations of both teams.
The announcement comes at a crucial time for Ghana football, with expectations high for both the men’s and women’s national teams ahead of their respective tournaments.
More details regarding the duration, financial value and scope of the sponsorship package are expected to be disclosed during Friday’s press briefing in Accra.
